V\u00e1clav Pol\u00edvka (born September 24, 1974) gained his first professional singing experience as a member of the Czechoslovak Radio Children's Choir under the direction of Prof. \u010cestm\u00edr Sta\u0161ek. His collaboration with Petr \u0160efle, with whom he performed songs and arias by Johann Sebastian Bach at the age of 12, and with Milo\u0161 Bok, with whom he and his brothers premiered his Missu Brevis in E flat major, was also a valuable contribution. He studied vocal technique under I. Troupov\u00e1 and, since 2001, has been a student of K. F\u00fcrstov\u00e1, Prof. T. Blumov\u00e1, and P. Zumrov\u00e1. Coincidentally, all of these teachers use the Szamosi technique, which he is currently preparing an audiovisual documentary about. His voice is currently being used in a wide variety of areas \u2013 in the bands Bakchus, Jagabab, Jagabab-rock, Cain Da Breth, \u0160mrnc, in the choir Pra\u017e\u0161t\u00ed P\u011bvci under the direction of choirmaster Stanislav Mistr, in the ensemble Polyfonion, which focuses on Gothic and Renaissance vocal music, and in a number of Baroque and contemporary music projects \u2013 G.F. Handel's Messiah (Igor Angelov), St. John Passion, Mass in B minor, and Christmas Oratorio by J.S. Bach (Marek \u0160tryncl, Stanislav Mistr), \u0158\u00edkadla and Ot\u010den\u00e1\u0161 by Leo\u0161 Jan\u00e1\u010dek, and Mass by Igor Stravinsky (Jan Pol\u00edvka). His vocal range is G \u2013 g2.<\/p>\n
